Urinary continence, as an important branch of Urology, mainly involves the basic research, clinical diagnosis and treatment of lower urinary tract dysfunction and related diseases. It is also one of the most complex fields of Urology. The Chinese Continence Society (CCS) of Chinese Urology Association (CUA) was established in 1997 (formerly known as Urodynamics Group), which is one of the earliest professional groups in CUA. After more than 20 years of efforts, under the leadership of the previous CCS leader and the support of colleagues in urinary continence, the cause of urinary continence in China has developed rapidly, made significant progress, and got in line with international standards. Under the leadership of Professor Limin Liao, the new leader of CCS, the society will make further efforts to uphold and implement the historical mission and contemporary tasks assigned by the CCS of CUA, and continue to strengthen the basic research, theoretical exploration and product development in the field of urinary continence; we will conduct multi-center clinical research on urinary continence and pelvic floor functional diseases, and gradually promote the application and popularization of new surgery approach and technologies of urinary continence in China; we will strengthen the scientific popularization and technical assistance in urinary continence, and strive to continuously achieve breakthroughs and innovations in the fields of clinical, scientific research and translational medicine; we will accelerate the internationalization process of urinary continence cause in China, and strive to achieve the goal of paralleling or leading with the international level; we will be down-to-earth, realistic and enterprising, unite and cooperate, work together for mutual benefit, and make unremitting efforts to achieve the strongest voice of Chinese colleagues of urinary continence in the world.
