The Andrology Group of Urology Branch of Chinese Medical Association (CUA) was first established in 1990, which was called “Andrology Group” at that time. Academician Jieping Wu served as consultant and Academician Yinglu Guo served as group leader. It is a professional academic organization under the leadership of CUA, with scientific and technical workers engaged in andrology as the main body. The establishment of CUA Andrology Group greatly promoted the development of andrology in China, and directly promoted the establishment of the Andrology Branch of Chinese Medical Association in 1995. Academician Yinglu Guo still served as the chairman of committee of the first Andrology Branch of Chinese Medical Association. In 2007, the 7th CUA Committee re-established the Andrology Group, headed by Professor Xiaofeng Wang, which once again improved the organizational system of CUA sub-professional group. In July 2010, CUA Andrology Group held the first national academic conference in Wuhan, which marked that CUA Andrology Group, as a relatively independent professional academic organization, participated in leading the development of andrology in China, and made the next 10 years the fastest developing stage of andrology in China. The 10th and 11th CUA Committee Andrology Group, headed by Professor Shujie Xia, put forward the concept of “paying attention to the health management of the whole life cycle from sperm development to elderly men”, which further promoted the construction of andrology sub-specialty, and made CUA Andrology Group rapidly develop into an academic organization with complete organizational system, clear mission and mature specialty. Under the leadership of CUA, and under the auspices of Professor Tie Chong, the group leader, and with the active participation and support of all members and colleagues, the new CUA Andrology Group will pursue the group aim of “men's health, andrology first” and earnestly implement the three major tasks of "academic exchange, continuing education and scientific popularization", which will surely make greater contributions to the development of andrology in China and the construction of a healthy China.
