The application of laser in urology is becoming more and more extensive, and it is also playing an increasingly important role in the treatment of urological diseases. Laser treatment of diseases covers a variety of urological diseases such as urinary calculus, urinary tumors and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Currently, the types of lasers used in urology include holmium laser, thulium laser, green laser, 1470 laser, red laser and many other lasers with different characteristics and functions. In order to better research, promote and apply various laser technologies, Chinese Urological Association established the Laser Group in May 2021.

Professor Qi Lin from Hunan Xiangya Hospital was the first head of the study group, with 6 deputy group leaders, 1 secretary-general and 1 deputy secretary-general, and 54 members of the group.

The purpose and goal of the study group is to "lead, innovate, standardize, and popularize". Through academic exchanges and continuing education at home and abroad, we aim to improve the deep understanding of lasers among urologists, and promote the application and standardized use of various lasers in urological diseases.
